I 've been busy getting my garden and my house ready for fall. I LOVE fall! I've been canning still. This last week I canned dilly beans, canned more pickled beets and made more pesto. In the house I've been sewing banners, arranging flowers, decorating pumpkin's and decorating the front porch. Here's a peek at the front porch....

{ part 2 of the very, very, very long post }
This year the grasshopper didn't win in the garden! Thanks to grasshopper bait being spread over our entire 10 acres and 10 cute chickens, we had an awesome garden! I grew a little bit of everything, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, beets, radishes, beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, dill, parsley, basil, onions, garlic, spinach, lettuce, swiss chard, zucchini, squash, watermelons, corn, rhubarb, cabbage, chinese cabbage, potatoes and raspberries. I also tried strawberries and blueberries, but they didn't make it. SO, because I had such a big garden, I've been busy trying to get it all "put up" for the winter! So far....I've done zuchinni relish, pickles (mustard and dill), pickled beets, dilly beans, pesto, choke cheery syrup and jelly, grated zucchini for bread and stir-fry's, frozen all the corn on the cob and........I'm not done! When the girls are in in school this week, I still have soooooo much to can and freeze! It's a lot of work, but I know it will be worth it this winter when we get to open up and eat all of those yummy things!

Here is the girl's first day of school last week!
They love their teachers and school! They were sooo happy to go!
Now, I'm all alone...........yes, I have been crying everyday!
I don't know how time went so fast that they are both in school!
