{ t-shirt fun }

I've been experimenting lately with "fixing-up" old t-shirts. Here's 3. The first is for the girls. I took this 50 cent old navy yard sale tee and added 3 ruffles down the middle! it's super cute! I don't know if you've noticed but ruffles and flowers are VERY IN right now! The styles are all very feminine....which I LOVE!!!

The next 2 are my $3 Wal-mart t-shirts. I bought these last year and each one had a couple stains I wanted to cover.....so I sewed ruffles on them. To make the ruffles for these t-shirts I used my rotary cutter and cut 3/4" to 1" strips from other old t-shirts! Look at me up-cycling! It's happy earth day all over again!!! Updating my wardrobe and saving a buck......right now I feel like Miss Thrifty!!!

{ cheap paint fun }

Want an inexpensive and fun way to entertain your kids for hours.......Milk paint and leftover news paper roll! I found this recipe for making "milk paint" in a book Aunt Cheryl gave us! The girls love it.
MILK PAINT
1 cup powdered milk
1-2 cups warm water
Few drops of food coloring...your choice
mix powdered milk and water together until it's the consistency you want to paint with. Divide the mixed milk into 4-6 containers (depending on how many colors you want) Then Mix individual food coloring with each jar of milk to make your desired color. shake well. Your ready to paint. (Old baby food jars and yogurt contains work well for this) Store paints in the fridge when your not using. Paint will last in the fridge for 1-2 months!

You can get a big package (20-30) of kids paint brushes at walmart office supply/craft section for a couple bucks.

After we made this paint I stopped by our local newspaper office and asked if they had any leftover rolls of paper.....they did! And the best part, the rolls are only .25 cents each! That is some cheap fun!!!

{ Miss Mayce }

My little miss mayce is sick today, so were laying low....we've just been finishing up some yard projects. I will take pictures soon! Our yard is coming along!!! It's looks GREAT! Well, back to miss mayce! Have a great day!

{ decorating project }

Here's a project I've been working on for the living room. I used some beautiful french advertizing images from GraphicsFairy.blogspot.com to make some fun frames for above our couch. I printed the images on to iron-on transfer paper and then ironed them onto cream material. I glued the material to the back of some 50 cent yard sale frames that I had painted white and black. Easy, beautiful and cheap!!!! The Graphics Fairy's sight is amazing....you should check it out if you ever need vintage clipart!

{salt lake }

Our girl's trip to Salt Lake 2 weeks ago was soooo much fun!!! We scored some great scrapbook deals and laughed a lot!!! Not to mention we ate some really yummy food! This very beautiful lady in the picture with me is Miss Teressa Collins. She has her Very Own AWESOME scrapbook product line. She was at the expo on Friday teaching us how to make some beautiful paper flowers. She was so kind and sweet! Go here to check out here designs and product lines.

{ happy 9th anniversary }

Today is our 9th  anniversary.....YYYEEAAHHHH! I have to say the last 9 years have flow by, some have been hard and trying, others have easy and fun. Overall I wouldn't trade or change any of those years. All 9 of those years have made us who we are today. I can truly say that every year just gets better! I love this amazing MAN of mine more than EVER! He is the BEST DAD, and HUSBAND. He is a really HARD WORKER, but he also knows how to have FUN! He is kind, sweet and funny. He can fix just about anything. He is my best friend. Buck, you are the best! I love you sooo much!

This morning I woke up to this awesome anniversary surprise.......


A brand new front load washer and dryer! A total surprise! Our washer and dryer have been going down hill for quite a while now. When I wash 5 loads of laundry it has literally been taking me all day because I have to check on the washer 2-3 times during every cycle and then start it spinning manually or it will not spin!!!!! The dryer has been taking 90 minutes to dry 1 load that should take 40 minutes! We've fixed them several times over the last few years......but now, it didn't seem worth it anymore! I had been getting really frustrated, we had talked about getting a new set and decided we couldn't afford it right now. But, my sneaky and really nice husbands sells appliances now along with the flooring and cabinets at RBM/ Direct source and he figured out a way to get these for a screaming deal.....he then also got them home and installed before I even realized it! We have been so blessed ....this is the first washer and dryer we have had to pay for in 9 years! Thank you Thank you Thank you honey! I LOVE YOU!!!!! Here's to the next 91 years! Let's hope the washer and dryer last that long too!



 

{ easter fun }

The girls had a very full and fun weekend......first an egg hunt at the fire station...it was freezing as you tell by our attire!

Then egg dying (3 dozen)..........SO FUN! The girls are so creative. They made some really pretty eggs.

Then church, egg hunting and dinner at home!

My whole family came over for dinner yesterday.....we had a great time and lots of food! Uncle Travis and Uncle Dustin hid about 100 filled eggs for the girls! They loved every minute of it.... Espeaclly because Buck and I had already hid about 50 filled eggs that morning!!! Nana and Papa got them their own potted plants to grow in their windows (watermelons, pumpkins, daisies and sunflowers). Plus the day before, Grandma Stormy and Grandpa Ron brought them over fun easter baskets. They are loaded now!

I couldn't resist putting these cute bunny glasses on audette, mayce and cooper!!! SO CUTE!

I stayed up very late saturday night finshing these easter dresses for the girls! Nothing like waiting until the last minute. It was worth it though ....they loved them! They squealed when they woke up to see them sitting on the couch.

Here's a happy spring banner hanging above our stairs right now.......It's very cheerful! I cut these pennents out of some old fabric from a thrift store and then sewed them together. Then added a few scrapbook supplies........of course!
